Ahlibank hosts WPS (Wage Protection System) Seminar for Employers

Ahlibank hosted a Seminar at the Crown Plaza Hotel for both customers and non-bank customers to fully understand the new WPS (Wage Protection System) scheme. At the heart of the presentation was how Ahlibank is supporting both employers and employees comply with this important new legislation.
Andrew McKechnie, Deputy CEO, Retail said, “I am delighted that over 200 attendees, representing employers, joined our free seminar to learn how Ahlibank is supporting them and their employees on implementing the new WPS regulations, which is designed to ensure employees are paid in a timely manner. We were able to demonstrate how the new registration and ongoing salary payment process benefits all parties. Attendees were also able to meet a range of Ahlibank experts in the fields of Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking and e-Payments”
McKechnie also added, “In the next few days we will be launching our new Payroll Card Solution for employees. The Payroll Card has been specifically designed to meet the needs of employees who earn up to QAR 6,000 per month. Employees can receive their salaries on their Payroll Cards, which are loaded via the WPS process. The Payroll Card can be used at all ATMs and Point of Sale terminals, displaying the Visa logo within Qatar and overseas. Payroll Cardholders are not charged to use Ahlibank ATM's. In addition, customers can access a dedicated Payroll Card Contact Centre. The Payroll Card is another example of our commitment to innovation and providing the most personal banking experience to our customers”
