Ahlibank launches Himyan prepaid card

Doha, Qatar – May 31, 2023: Ahlibank, a leading Qatari owned financial institution, has launched the ‘Himyan’ prepaid card. This is the first Qatari national prepaid card introduced by the Qatar Central Bank, to allow all members of society, as well as visitors to make secure payments across the country.
The new contactless card aims at enhancing electronic banking services and transforming the country into a more inclusive cashless society. The card is available to all members of the community, including citizens, residents and visitors of Qatar,.
The Himyan card, named after the traditional moneybag used by ancient Arabian merchants provides customers with a secure and convenient way to manage their finances and make electronic payments in Qatar.
The new prepaid card, which is available exclusively for transactions within Qatar, can be used at all local points of sale (POS), ATMs and online shopping websites in a secure manner.
The Himyan card does not require any minimum account balance, making it possible for cardholders to load and reload any amount of fund into the card at any time through Ahlibank’s cash deposit ATM. Existing customers can transfer from within Ahlibank’s Online and Mobile Banking app to their Himyan card.
